SEATTLE — Cardinal Health hosted a full-day pharmacy ownership “boot camp” to support Women in Pharmacy in Seattle, Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Cardinal Health 2013 Retail Business Conference, helping to pave the way to independent ownership for a key demographic across pharmacy schools and pharmacy operations — female pharmacists.

SEATTLE — Chris Geronsin, owner of Beverly Hills Pharmacy in St. Louis, was honored with Cardinal Health’s Ken Wurster Community Leadership Award during the closing ceremonies at the Cardinal Health annual Retail Business Conference in Seattle on Friday, Aug. 9, at the Washington State Convention Center.

SEATTLE — At its annual Retail Business Conference for independent pharmacies, Cardinal Health presented its special publication Independent Pharmacy Best Practices Guide: Innovating Independents. This report highlights 14 unique programs, implemented by independent pharmacists from across the United States, that improve patient care and drive business results.

SEATTLE — As part of its continued commitment to supporting future pharmacists, Cardinal Health today announced that six pharmacy schools across the country will receive more than $625,000 in funding through the Cardinal Health Pharmacy Scholarship Program. The company has donated nearly $2.2 million to more than 20 universities through this program since its launch in June 2011.

SEATTLE — By now, even a quick look at drug companies' product pipelines and patient demographics should make it clear that specialty drugs are where it's at.

According to pharmacy benefit manager Express Scripts, the market for drugs used to treat complex, rare and serious conditions like cancer, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, autoimmune disorders and rare genetic diseases is set to grow by 67% by the end of 2015.
