Soapbox won the Drug Store News Buyers Choice Award for its Tea Tree Clean and Purify Shampoo during ECRM’s Indie Brands — Beauty and Personal Care session held earlier this month. Noyah was a finalist for its Natural Lipsticks in assorted colors.

The products were selected from dozens of entries submitted by participating suppliers. Buyers were able to evaluate each entry and cast their votes based on product packaging and innovation via the Drug Store News-branded Buyers Choice Awards section of the ECRM Connect platform.

“Sustainability and social responsibility are extremely important to today’s consumers,” said Craig Chmielowicz, senior vice president of health and beauty Care for ECRM. “The two Buyers Choice Award winners keep the health of people and health of the planet in mind in their product and packaging development, using clean ingredients while at the same time maintaining efficacy. Congratulations to both winners.”

Soapbox is a personal care brand on a mission to bring products to the market where consumers can feel the difference and make a difference with every single wash and purchase.

Its products range from nourishing hand soaps to color-safe hair treatments and washes that all are vegan, paraben-free, silicone-free and blended with moisture-rich ingredients like shea butter and aloe. For every Soapbox product purchased, Soapbox donates a bar of soap to someone in need either here in the U.S. or abroad.

The brand’s Tea Tree Clean and Purify Shampoo was developed to provide a cooling sensation that cleanses away build-up and leaves the hair and scalp feeling cool, calm and refreshed. Tea tree oil is known for its purifying qualities of removing build-up on the scalp and hair to leave them feeling light and airy. The shampoo formula also has a custom 5X vitamin complex for healthier hair.

Noyah believes its products should be good for the customers who use them and good for the planet they live on. The company features clean formulas that are mostly certified organic and biobased, containing as few ingredients as possible with names that are easy to understand.

Its packaging is eco-friendly and sustainable, featuring bamboo, glass, 88 percent PCR plastic, tubes made of sugar cane and compostable wraps. And, since users likely eat pounds of lip care products during their lifetime, its products are made from 100 percent food in kitchens instead of cosmetic manufacturing plants.

Its Natural Lipsticks are USDA Certified 100 percent Biobased. Their simple, uncomplicated ingredients feature waxes, oils, and mineral-based pigments designed to deliver great color payoff and staying power. The bamboo packaging is fully sustainable and contain no parabens, sulphates and phthalates.
