Theo Chocolate launches channel peanut butter, coffee flavors

Theo Chocolate is putting a new spin on its sweet treats.

The Seattle-based company, known for its organic chocolate bars, unveiled two new additions to its portfolio — peanut butter and jelly cups and coffee and cream cups.

“‘Does the world need another peanut butter cup?’ You won't be asking yourself that after you try one with jelly!” Jason Harty, CMO of Theo Chocolate said. “We want to bring more joy to your chocolate, and what better way to do that than to recreate popular flavor duos with our own touch. Peanut butter and jelly, coffee and cream, these are delicious classic combinations now made better with chocolate. Fortunately, peas and carrots didn’t make the cut.”

Packed into the peanut butter and jelly cups are peanut butter and a layer of raspberry jelly in a 55% dark chocolate shell.

On the other hand, the coffee and cream cups contain dark chocolate and coffee-infused coconut oil in a 45% milk chocolate shell, the company said.

“The coffee and cream cups are a mocha-lover’s dream-come-true,” Katy Radtke, the product development manager of Theo Chocolate said. “Because the filling is made with a blend of 85% dark chocolate and coffee-infused coconut oil, it melts immediately when it hits your tongue. There is a rush of coffee flavor upfront, followed by a sweet and creamy milk chocolate finish.”

Both Theo Chocolate launches carry a suggested retail price of $2.29 each and will be rolling out to grocery store shelves over the next months.
