    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Kmart parent company Sears Holdings on Thursday announced its first quarter sales figures, as well as the departure of its CFO and plans to explore ways to expand distribution of its key brands outside its own stores.
     
  • MinuteClinic launches digital tool that lets patients hold place in line

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — MinuteClinic on Thursday announced the introduction of its new digital tool that allows patients to see wait times at most locations and hold a place in line using their smartphone, computer or tablet. 
     
    The service has launched for all MinuteClinics inside CVS Pharmacy Locations and Long Drugs in Hawaii, and the company plans to roll it out to Target-based clinics later this year. 
     
  • CVS Health’s Rx-free naloxone effort to reach 30 states by August

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health on Wednesday announced that its push to curb opioid overdose by providing overdose reversal drug naloxone without a prescription would hit 30 states by August through expansion to seven new states this summer. The initiative works by establishing a standing order with an in-state physician to allow pharmacists to dispense the drug to patients without individual prescriptions. The company has already begun dispensing naloxone in 23 states. 
     
  • MinuteClinic, Palo Alto VA system team to increase health care access for veterans

    WOONSOCKET, R. I. — CVS Health’s MinuteClinic on Tuesday announced a new initiative that it will be undertaking with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System in an effort to expand veterans’ access to high-quality and convenient health care in northern California. As a result of the initiative, the 60,000 veterans enrolled in health system can be referred to MinuteClinic for acute health services.

    WABAN, Mass — Consumers have spoken, and when it comes to supermarkets, Publix and H-E-B were ranked highest by consumers in the 2016 Temkin Experience Ratings for supermarkets, an annual ranking of companies based on a 10,000-consumer survey. 
     
  • Report: Meijer opens two of 9 stores planned for 2016

    Meijer opened two of its planned nine new and 32 remodeled stores in 2016 across the Michigan-based retailer's six-state footprint. According to MLive.com, the new 192,000 square-foot supercenters in Evansville, Ind. and Owensboro, Ky., are built to Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design standards and will be open 24 hours a day.
