According to figures released by integrated online marketing company ValueClick, while most online shopping activity occurs between 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. local time on a typical weekday, the heaviest volume shifts to 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time on Cyber Monday, peaking at 8 p.m.

Former Genentech COO appointed to Rite Aid board of directors
CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid has appointed healthcare executive Myrtle Potter to its board of directors, the retail pharmacy chain said Tuesday.
Potter is currently CEO of Myrtle Potter & Co., a Silicon Valley-based consulting firm focused on life sciences and health care, as well as the head of consumer healthcare content company Myrtle Potter Media. She previous served as president of commercial operations and COO at Genentech and has worked at companies like Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merck.

Survey: Consumers more likely to shop where retailers give back to charity
RICHMOND, Va. — The economy may still be slowly inching its way toward recovery, but that hasn't stopped Americans from feeling charitable this holiday season.
A survey revealed that 2-in-3 people say they're planning on giving back during the final weeks of the year, either through financial contributions or volunteering. The findings also showed that 72% of consumers are more likely to shop where retailers also are giving back. Sixty-nine percent said knowing a business gives back impacts their purchase decision.
