  • Researchers unveil supplement to fight childhood obesity

    BETHESDA, Md. — Prebiotics may soon be the latest tool in the fight against childhood obesity, researchers from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, reported earlier this week. Prebiotics reduce body fat in children who are overweight or obese by altering their gut microbiota, according to new research published in Gastroenterology, the official journal of the American Gastroenterological Association.

    The company on Tuesday announced the acquisition of RangeMe, which streamlines new product discovery in a way that ECRM said will complement the foundation it has laid in helping buyers discover new products and improve category planning effectiveness.

    NEW YORK — LoveBug added two retailers to the roster of outlets that carry its line of probiotics. The company announced recently that Meijer and Vitamin Shoppe would begin carrying the line, which includes probiotics for adult health, women’s health, pre- and post-natal health, babies and children’s health.
