Walmart is reportedly partnering with China’s Internet services provider Tencent Holdings to expand digitally in the country, while also giving its services, such as mobile payments and mini-programs, exposure to more users.
Under new guidelines that go into effect on June 4, Walmart employees across all 4,700 stores in the U.S. are now free to wear jeans — of any color — along with shirts of any color or pattern.
Under the program, Walmart will subsidize the cost of higher education, beyond financial aid and an employee contribution equivalent to $1 a day — if the candidate is pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degrees in business or supply chain management.
The retailer reported that its revenue rose 4.4% to $122.69 billion for the period ended April 30, same-store sales rose 2.1% and online sales jumped 33%.
While the program will be pulled out of approximately 150 Walmart stores, the service will remain at Sam’s Club, where its usage doubled last year, the company said.
Hard Candy will be visiting 365 Walmart locations throughout the nation, offering shoppers a personalized makeup consultation and demonstration of the Rock the Golden Glow and Rock the Golden Glam looks.
The collaboration will give Walmart associates and their families, as well as the community, access to Sharecare to help them better understand, track and improve their health, the companies said.
