  • Albertsons names former Sam’s Club CEO to senior advisor role

    BOISE, Idaho — One of the nation's leading supermarkets has tapped a retail and digital veteran to join its team.

    Albertsons appointed Kevin Turner, former COO at Microsoft, as vice chairman of the board of managers of AB Acquisition, its direct parent. Turner also has been named senior advisor to Albertsons chairman and CEO, Bob Miller.

    BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons on Friday announced two key executive appointments to its marketing and merchandising team. Dennis Clark has been promoted to SVP merchandising, and Pat Brown, most recently CEO of Natural Markets Food Group, has been named group VP merchandising, leading Deli & Prepared Foods and Business Initiatives.

    BOISE, Idaho — As part of a collaborative effort to improve access to hormonal contraception for Oregon women, Albertsons announced Wednesday that select pharmacies can now bill Oregon Medicaid plans for a consultation service fee and is the first in the nation to successfully complete the process for a patient.

  • Albertsons names Lupin’s InspiraChamber its preferred aerosol therapy chamber

    UMBAI, BALTIMORE and BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons and Lupin Pharmaceuticals announced a new partnership that would bring Lupin’s InspiraChamber to all of Albertsons’ banner pharmacies as the retailer’s preferred inhaled aerosol therapy chamber.

    The holding chamber will be available at the more than 1,7000 pharmacies in the 35 states that Albertsons operates, the companies said.

The company on Wednesday announced the acquisition of MedCart Specialty Pharmacy, a URAC accredited provider of specialty care services and medication management for patients and providers dealing with complex diseases.

  • Albertsons, Wegmans named EPA Safer Choice Partners of the Year

    OXON HILL, Md. — Albertsons and Wegmans Food Markets were named by the Environmental Protection Agency as Safer Choice Partners of the Year for 2017, which honors outstanding achievement in the design, manufacture, promotion, and use of Safer Choice-labeled products over the past year. The awards were presented at National Harbor in Oxon Hill on May 15.
