  • Albertsons names longtime vet Jewel-Osco division president

    BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons’ Jewel-Osco division has a new executive at the helm. The company has named Doug Cygan division president, effective immediately, overseeing 186 stores in Ill., Ind. and Iowa.
     
  • Former Walmart exec joins Ecoark board

    ROGERS, Ark. — Holding company Ecoark on Thursday announced the addition of two members to its board of directors. Joining the board is Steve Nelson, a former VP, controller of Dillard’s, and Susan Chambers, who retired from her position as Walmart’s chief human resources officer in July 2015.
     
  • Albertsons names Geoff White own brands president

    BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons has tapped Geoff White as president of the company's own brands organization. In this newly created role, White will lead the own brands team, including the culinary kitchen and technical center. He will be charged with furthering the growth, development and innovation of the company's own brand products, including O Organics, Lucerne, Open Nature and the extensive line of Signature products.

  • Costco declares $3.1B special dividend

    ISSAQUAH, Wash. —  Costco declared a special cash dividend on Costco common stock of $7 per share, payable May 26, to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 10. The aggregate payment will be approximately $3.1 billion.

  • Albertsons appoints Jewel-Osco exec as EVP retail operations

    BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons Cos. on Monday today appointed Jewel-Osco Division President Mike Withers as its EVP, retail operations. Withers will lead the company's East Region operations, while current EVP, Retail Operations Susan Morris will lead the West Region. Jim Perkins, EVP, retail operations Special Projects, is focused on targeted initiatives to accelerate growth. All three executives will continue to report to Wayne Denningham, president and COO.
