  • H-E-B recruiting 2014 class for its Slim Down Showdown

     SAN ANTONIO — H-E-B recently started recruiting its 2014 class of 15 shoppers who will get their "healthy on" toward a grand prize of $10,000 in the Texas chain's Slim Down Showdown.

    The challenge will begin in January, H-E-B noted, and will be accepting online applications through Nov. 1. H-E-B determines the grand prize winner using three metrics — overall health improvement, participation and fan engagement.

    NEW YORK — Rally Labs recently introduced its Blowfish for Hangovers, a morning-after remedy that has a bit of a cult following in New York, into the drug channel the company noted. 

    The Blowfish formulation contains a combination of aspirin and caffeine in an effervescent tablet specifically formulated for hangovers. The buffered formula helps rehydrate, restore alertness and provide relief for a headache, Rally Labs noted. 

  • Novo Nordisk-organized cyclist team to tour Canada

    MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — An athletic team consisting entirely of people with diabetes will take part in several professional competitions and speaking events in Canada.

    Team Novo Nordisk, organized by the Danish drug maker, includes 17 professional bike riders from 10 countries, including winners and podium finishers from professional races. The team will take part in the Tour de Beauce in Quebec, with three cyclists, and will compete in BC Superweek in British Columbia, as well as other competitions around the country.

  • Feosol: 23% of women experience unexplained fatigue

    MARIETTA, Ga. — A recent survey of U.S. women conducted by Harris Interactive for Feosol Iron Supplements found that over the past 12 months, nearly a quarter of women in the United States experienced unexplained fatigue, and many of those have indicated that it negatively affected their lives in a variety of ways. 

    What's more, as many as 69% of these women have not spoken to a doctor about their fatigue.
