  • Jack Link's Beef Jerky sponsors Urban Assault Ride

    MINONG, Wis. — Jack Link’s Beef Jerky announced its sponsorship of the nation's largest bike scavenger hunt.

    The beef jerky brand said it would be the presenting sponsor of the New Belgium Brewing Urban Assault Ride, which is a bike race/obstacle course. The event is open to anyone ages 7 years or older and includes such team divisions as coed, male, female and family, with prizes awarded to the top three teams in each division.

    The 2011 Urban Assault Ride will take place in the following locations:

    • March 20 in Tucson, Ariz.;

  • Rebootizer USA to sponsor kiteboarder Kris Kinn

    WILTON, Conn. — Rebootizer USA on Tuesday signed Kris Kinn, professional kiteboarder and international team rider for Best Kiteboarding, to its team of sponsored athletes.

    Kinn grew up on the shores of Lake Erie in Buffalo, N.Y. She began kiteboarding six years ago and now travels the world competing in national and international events.

  • Coke, AAFES team up on NCAA contest for troops

    DALLAS — The Army and Air Force Exchange Service on Tuesday teamed with Coca-Cola to give military shoppers a chance to be a part of the 2012 NCAA Final Four Weekend in New Orleans.

    Shoppers who visit their local Exchange can become eligible for a chance to win 1-of-5 grand prizes consisting of a trip for two to the 2012 NCAA Final Four Weekend, a value of $3,500 per winner.

    Military shoppers can enter the Exchange/Coke NCCA contest from March 11 to 24.

  • Goal! Bic scores with Mexican soccer lighters

    SHELTON, Conn. — Bic is expanding its Pro Series of lighters with new Mexican soccer designs.

    The lighters are emblazoned with Chivas and Club America teams' logos and colors. The eight lighters are targeted to Mexican-American males ages 25 years and older, Bic said.

    Lighters in the Bic Pro Series Mexican soccer series have a suggested retail price of $1.69 per lighter.

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Unilever, the maker of Dove Men+Care, is celebrating the launch of its new Dove Men+Care antiperspirants/deodorants and Sensitive Clean personal wash by inking a corporate partnership with the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

  • Annika Sorenstam to promote Lipton's RTD teas

    ORLANDO, Fla. — A joint venture between PepsiCo and Unilever has tapped a Hall of Fame golfer to promote ready-to-drink iced teas throughout the state of Florida.

    The Pepsi Lipton Tea partnership said Annika Sorenstam will promote Lipton ready-to-drink iced teas through in-market appearances and regional advertising for its portfolio of RTD iced tea products, which includes Lipton and Lipton Pure Leaf iced teas.

  • Stride taps Shaun White as spokesman

    EAST HANOVER, N.J. — The ridiculously long-lasting gum has tapped a snowboarding and skateboarding champion to serve as the brand's spokesman.

    Shaun White, an Olympic gold medalist, inked a two-year deal with Stride to be the gum's official brand spokesman and will be featured in a variety of promotional activities. Stride said it is planning giveaways, digital and social media campaigns, and public relations efforts throughout the coming months.

  • Rihanna teams up with Nivea for brand's 100th anniversary celebration

    HAMBURG, Germany — Beiersdorf is celebrating Nivea's 100th year and, as part of the celebration, is launching its biggest digital campaign to date. The brand has tapped music icon Rihanna to help serve as the voice of the festivities.

    Starting in May, Nivea will be kicking off a variety of multimarket digital and on-site activations, including its sponsorship of Rihanna's upcoming LOUD tour in the United States and Europe.
