    NEW YORK — Duane Reade at midnight on Friday launched their “Show Us Your Party Legs” holiday photo contest on Facebook. The contest is a three week, omnichannel social media marketing campaign to raise awareness of Duane Reade-brand hosiery products that will run through Jan. 4. 

  • Retail traffic down 22% in week following Black Friday

    CHICAGO — Consumers spent a majority of last week recovering from “Black Weekend” holiday shopping. ShopperTrak on Wednesday reported that for the week of Dec. 2 to Dec. 8, GAFO (general merchandise, apparel, furniture and other products) brick-and-mortar retail sales decreased 2.9% compared to the same time last year. Last week’s retail shopper traffic decreased 21.6% compared to the same time period in 2012.

    The award-winning star of E4's show, “Made in Chelsea,” will appear in Sunshimmer's advertising campaign from February 2014.

  • Canus to educate Publix shoppers of benefits of goat's milk skin care products

    WATERBURY, Vt. — Caprina, the newest introduction by Canus, a manufacturer of goat's milk skin care products, became available in Publix stores earlier this year and now the brand is looking to hold in-store demos to educate shoppers on the benefits of goat’s milk.

    From Dec. 6 to 9, various Publix locations throughout Florida will be holding in-store demos each day offering free samples and information on the benefits of fresh goat's milk. 

  • Survey: 52% of primary male shoppers in the U.S. responsible for 78% of all groceries purchased

    STAMFORD, Conn. — Global retail branding and sourcing partner Daymon Worldwide on Wednesday released the results of its national "Men on a Mission" study, revealing six types of male mission-oriented shopping trips and male shopper archetypes based on evolving gender roles and shopping behavior. 

    According to the study, 52% of primary male shoppers in the United States are personally responsible for about 78% of all groceries purchased for their household in the last month, so they represent a significant financial opportunity.
