  • Report: Mondelez to bring Oreo chocolate bars to U.S.

    Mondelez plans to roll out Oreo-branded candy bars -- already available in some countries overseas -- in the United States in October and the bars will be available nationally in 2017. The Oreo candy bars, a cult favorite among U.S. consumers who have tried them while overseas, are made with creme filling and bits of the namesake cookies, covered in Milka chocolate.   • P&G begins search for a new Mr. Clean

    CINCINNATI -- Procter & Gamble is launching an open casting call and fun digital campaign to find #TheNextMrClean.

    The next Mr. Clean will win $20,000, a year’s supply of Magic Erasers and an all-expenses paid trip to New York City, where he or she will be featured in a 2017 limited edition Mr. Clean calendar.

  • Greeting card start-up shows its sketch-design love

    Lovepop Cards, a Harvard-based greeting card start-up, landed a $300,000 investment from investor Kevin O’Leary, on ABC’s “Shark Tank” TV show in December. Every card design starts as a sketch on paper that is translated to a modeling software, in which each shape is drawn. Those shapes are then transferred to a software that routs a laser-cutter to cut out each piece. Since January, the company has had about 40,000 customers and will do roughly $1 million in sales this year, according to the company.

  • Hilco and Disney team up to create lollipop dippers

    ATLANTA -- Candy and novelty maker Hilco has created fun new lollipop dippers designed to appeal to kids of all ages.

    The company is rolling out lollipop dippers with designs of Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory and Finding Nemo.

    The character-shaped lollipops have powdered candy to dip and lick and are available in Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory and Nemo characters.  Just twist and pull the top off the bottle and dip into the tasty powered candy.

    Hallmark is bringing music from some of the most popular country artists into the greeting card aisle with CMA Sounds Cards, thanks to Hallmark’s new licensing partnership with the Country Music Association. The new collection includes 12 song cards, each featuring a sound clip from CMA artists, including Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert and Luke Bryan. Priced at $4.99, each card features a 15-second sound clip from some of the artists’ top songs, including No.
