  • Reckitt Benckiser unveils sustainability report

    PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Reckitt Benckiser has achieved 75% of its target goal for the company's Carbon 20 program, RB said in its sustainability report.

    The Carbon 20 program, which was launched in 2007, is an initiative set by RB to reduce its own carbon footprint by 20% by 2020.

    Additionally, RB also said in the report that all of its household products now tout 100% non-PVC packaging. This includes such brands as Finish, Vanish, Lysol, Harpic and Air Wick.

  • Weight Watchers Smart Ones adds Satisfying Selections

    PITTSBURGH — Weight Watchers has expanded its line of Smart Ones mealtime offerings with new meals in a bag.

    The new Satisfying Selections line offers 30% bigger portions than traditional tray meals, but tout less than 400 calories. The line includes such Weight Watchers Smart Ones dinnertime dishes as:

    • Sesame chicken;

    • Chicken and broccoli alfredo;

    • Ziti with meatballs and cheese;

    • Chicken with broccoli and cheese; and

  • Jones Soda debuts 16-oz. can

    SEATTLE — Jones Soda has launched its pure cane soda in 16-oz. cans.

    The new product is specifically aimed at the convenience store channel, the company said. The product was unveiled at the National Association of Convenience Stores Show and will hit store shelves later this month.

    Jones pure cane soda cans retail for $1.29.

  • Kelapo introduces new baking sticks

    TAMPA, Fla. — Kelapo has expanded its lineup of extra-virgin coconut oil products.

    New Kelapo pre-measured extra virgin coconut oil baking sticks can be found in the dairy aisle and are packaged to include two 4-oz. sticks. Each 4-oz. stick measures 1/2 cup, or 8 tablespoons — the same amount as a regular stick of butter.

  • Walmart plays up toy list, layaway

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. — While Toys"R"Us and Kmart were among the first retailers to release their hot toy lists, Walmart wasn't too far behind this year, offering many of the same toys as the aforementioned companies, and even some exclusives.

  • V8 V-Fusion adds smoothies to lineup

    CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell Soup Co. has expanded its V8 V-Fusion juices line with 100% fruit and vegetable juice smoothies.

    The V8 V-Fusion smoothies have no added sugar, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives and provide 2g fiber and such vitamins as A, C and E, for 130 calories or less.

    The new smoothies carry a suggested retail price of $3.99 for a 36-oz. bottle. For a limited time, 9.5-oz. bottles also will be available at select Walmart stores nationwide for 50 cents.

  • Southern Comfort Fiery Pepper combines whiskey, hot sauce flavors

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Southern Comfort and Tabasco have teamed up to launch a new concoction.

    New Southern Comfort Fiery Pepper, which hits store shelves this month, can be served as a cold shot or incorporated into a cocktail, and features the flavors of Southern Comfort whiskey and original Tabasco brand pepper sauce.

  • Energizer expands Glas, Edge lines with flameless candles

    ST. LOUIS — Energizer has introduced new ways to light up one's home.

    The company said its Energizer Glas flameless candles offer a warm glow and natural flicker, combining a candle and holder into one decorative light, the company said. The classically-designed lights feature a clear, acrylic round shade and a black matte base, as well as a four-hour automatic timer.
