    ATLANTA — Coca-Cola’s Sprite brand on Monday announced that Sprite Cherry and Sprite Cherry Zero were hitting shelves. The varieties are available in a 20-ounce bottle and are both caffeine-free.

    CHICAGO — The majority of consumers see a brighter future for 2017, according the latest IRI Consumer Connect survey released Wednesday. The Q4 2016 findings reveal that 70% of consumers feel their household finances will improve in the next six months, and they are willing to pay a premium for higher quality and highly differentiated packaged goods products as well as for the convenience of shopping online.

  • Bartell Drugs makes big bet on fresh foods

    SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs is placing an emphasis on fresh foods, with nearly a dozen stores slated to receive its “Fresh Food Fast” assortments of salads, prepared foods and sandwiches, with plans to expand into other store locations this year.

    These fresh food selections include Mel’s Market, Zoe’s Meats, Ellenos Yogurt, Daphne’s Creamery, Columbus Craft Meats and Tillamook.

  • RB in talks to acquire Mead Johnson

    SLOUGH, England — RB on Thursday confirmed the group is in talks involving the acquisiton of  the Mead Johnson Nutrition Company for $90 in cash, valuing Mead Johnson's entire share capital at approximately $16.7 billion.

    The parties are presently engaged in a period of due diligence and contract discussion and both companies noted that there is no certainty that any transaction will ultimately be agreed, nor as to the terms on which any transaction might occur.
