  • Pereira & O'Dell named Henkel's agency of record

    SAN FRANCISCO — The maker of Purex, Renuzit and Soft Scrub has retained a new agency of record.

    Henkel announced it will work with Pereira & O'Dell's creative and strategy departments to develop TV, print, out-of-home and digital assets including social and mobile efforts.

    Sales of hot and cold breakfast cereals have been flat. “Consumers are faced with many breakfast options each day,” said David Browne, senior analyst at Mintel International Group. “While most do eat breakfast, it may mean a cereal/snack bar, yogurt, eggs, toast/bagels, baked goods or fast food restaurant options.” The popularity of egg-based breakfast sandwiches, particularly those available at fast food outlets, has surged. Consumers increasingly are buying breakfast outside the home.

    BALA CYNWYD, Pa. — Skinny Nutritional has entered an agreement with Cott's Cliffstar subsidiary to expand the availability of Skinny Nutritional's line of Skinny Water zero-calorie enhanced beverages.

  • Snapple combines tea, lemonade in new diet beverage

    PLANO, Texas — Snapple is combining two of its staple beverages into one with the official debut of Diet Half ‘n Half Lemonade Iced Tea.

    “Some combinations are too perfect to pass up,” Snapple VP marketing Regan Ebert said. “Snapple is always looking to make the Best Stuff even better and the new Diet Half ‘n Half offers our fans a tasty, low-calorie combination of two classic flavors that is sure to please, whichever side you’re rooting for.”

    LAS VEGAS — An iPhone and iPad waterproofing solution that offers antimicrobial product protection has hit the market.

    Seal Shields are form-fitting, polyurethane covers that make iPhones and iPads 100% waterproof, washable and disinfectable, according to the product's manufacturer. The product, which is completely invisible and preserves the original Apple design, contains an antimicrobial fungistatic agent that protects the product by inhibiting the growth of microbial bacteria, mold, mildew and fungi on the products' surfaces.

  • Report: Dr Pepper Snapple Group set to gear 10-calorie beverages toward women

    PLANO, Texas — Dr Pepper Snapple Group reportedly is expanding its line of 10-calorie soft drinks beyond the company's Dr Pepper brand.

    The company's Dr Pepper Ten brand, which debuted in October, removes the "diet" stigma by marketing the 10-calorie beverage toward men through a campaign that underscored "it's not for women." According to a report published by the Dallas Morning News' Biz Beat Blog, however, DPS is set to bring 10-calorie beverages to its 7Up, Sunkist, Canada Dry, A&W and RC brands, and will target both men and women.

is expanding its Chocolate Dips line to include a new sweet flavor. The company said its strawberry flavor will be available in a 2.8-oz. bag. The family of Jelly Bean Chocolate Dips also includes coconut, mint, orange, raspberry and Very Cherry flavors.

    ST. LOUIS — Six percent more men are doing the primary grocery shopping for their families versus five years ago, according to results of a new survey by Schnucks.
