  • Clorox discloses 'ingredients inside'

    OAKLAND, Calif. — Clorox is letting consumers know everything the company uses in its products.

    Part of its Ingredients Inside program, Clorox identifies all preservatives, dyes and fragrances in its U.S. and Canadian cleaning, disinfecting and laundry products. Detailed information also can be accessed on Clorox's Ingredients Inside Web page.

  • J.M. Smucker to boost coffee prices

    ORRVILLE, Ohio — The J.M. Smucker Co. said it is increasing the list price for many of its coffee products sold under the Folgers and Dunkin' Donuts brand names.

    The company said prices will rise an average of 10% for the aforementioned items as part of its sustainability efforts.

    J. M. Smucker noted that it holds a license for the Dunkin' Donuts brand and sells the brand-name packaged coffee products across various retail channels, not including Dunkin' Donuts restaurants.

  • 'May the force be with you:' M&M's featured in 'Star Wars' novelty items

    NEW YORK — CandyRific has joined Lucasfilm's "Star Wars" with iconic M&M's candies through a new license pairing.

    The new M&M's "Star Wars" lineup includes such items as 9-in. and 12-in. dispensers (retailing for $4.99 and $12.99, respectively), candy fans ($3.99), coin banks ($2.99) and lightsabers ($3.99). Many of the products feature M&M's dressed as classic "Star Wars" characters, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader and Han Solo.

    NEW YORK — Diet Pepsi is showing off its skinny side.

    The diet cola will debut its skinny can at New York's Fall 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, held from Feb. 10 to 17, in which Diet Pepsi will serve as the show's official sponsor.

  • Dannon's Activia Parfait Crunch hits store shelves

    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Dannon has expanded its Activia line with a blend of low-fat yogurt, fruit pieces and low-fat crunchy granola.

    New Activia Parfait Crunch contains 220 calories and 3 g of fat per 6-oz. container. Rolling out nationwide this month, Parfait Crunch will be available in strawberry and granola, mixed berry and granola, vanilla and granola, and peach and granola varieties.

    Dannon's Activia yogurt contains a probiotic culture that helps regulate the digestive system, according to the company.

  • 'The Colbert Report' tips hat to WAG for beer

    NEW YORK — "The Colbert Report" on Wednesday hosted a segment “Tip of the Hat; Wag of the Finger” that featured — and poked a little fun at — Walgreens’ private-label beer Big Flats 1901.

    The American lager is so named as an homage to the flat boats that traveled rivers delivering goods to early settlers.

    Walgreens' 50-cents-per-can beer is brewed by Genesee Brewery, which has been brewing Genesee beer in Rochester, N.Y., since 1878.

  • Sunkist soda kicks off catchphrase contest

    PLANO, Texas — Orange soda brand Sunkist has teamed up with sports broadcasting legend Dick Vitale to offer consumers a chance to win 1-of-8 $10,000 weekly cash prizes.

    Through March 31, Sunkist fans can enter the Sunkist Catchphrase that Pays contest, in which consumers can submit their best ideas for Vitale's new catchphrase online at SunkistSoda.com.

    MINNEAPOLIS — A new gourmet ice cream line has made its way to the freezer aisle.

    Iskream is a line of low-fat ice creams that are naturally sweetened with Truvia, a zero-calorie sweetener. The lineup currently includes Berry Good, chocolate brownie and vanilla varieties. Each flavor has a rich, creamy texture.

    Iskream currently is available in retailers in the Northeast.
