  • Altria to acquire Green Smoke

    RICHMOND, Va. — Altria Group on Monday announced that its subsidiary, Nu Mark, agreed to acquire e-vapor business Green Smoke and its affiliates for approximately $110 million in cash and up to $20 million in incentive payments.

  • Hallmark names VP, strategic relationships

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Former Coca-Cola executive Scott Young has joined Hallmark Cards as VP strategic relationships and business development.

    He succeeds longtime Hallmark VP Vince Burke, who retires Jan. 31 after more than 30 years with the company.

  • Vapor Corp. launches store-in-store concept

    DANIA BEACH, Fla. — Vapor Corp., a U.S.-based electronic cigarette company, will unveil a store-in-store "authorized dealer" retail concept at the Tobacco Plus Convenience Expo in Las Vegas, which is set to take place with the Las Vegas Convention Center from Jan. 29 to Jan. 30, 2014.

    WILTON, Conn. — Sun Products, a provider of household care products, has announced new additions to the Snuggle laundry brand, which includes Snuggle Scent Boosters, All Free Clear liquid fabric softener and dryer sheets, and All Mighty Pacs OXI.

     

  • Weiman Products acquires several cleaning brands from the Homax Group

    GURNEE, Ill. — Weiman Products, a manufacturer of specialty cleaning products whose portfolio includes Weiman Cook Top Cleaner and Weiman Leather Wipes, has acquired from the Homax Group the Goo Gone, Magic, Stone Care International, Natural Magic, OOPS! Paint Remover and Gonzo brands.

  • Study: 1-in-5 store customers are 'connected'

    NEW YORK — Eighty percent of U.S. consumers use the Internet when they shop. The fourth annual research study of shopper behavior, conducted by Cisco Consulting Services, revealed the percentage of “uber-digitals” shoppers, who regularly use their smartphones for their shopping decision-making, nearly doubled to 18% of the sampled population.

  • Gain reveals new detergent product

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble’s Gain brand is now offering consumers Gain flings!, a single-use laundry pac. The detergent is available in two varieties, Original Scent and Moonlight Breeze — a new scent that Gain is adding to its laundry portfolio. The product will launch during the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
