    GREENVILLE, N.C. — Mayne Pharma on Monday announced the launch of its generic of Paceron (amiodarone) tablets in 100-mg dosage strength. The company had already launched the drug, which is indicated to treat recurrent ventricular arrhythmia, in 400-mg dosage strength.

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS introduced a generic version of injectable epinephrine to compete with Mylan’s EpiPen at all of its locations. The product carries a cash price of $109.99 for a two-pack.

  • Teva launches generic Lamictal XR in new strength

    NORTH WALES, Penn. — Teva Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday announced the launch of its generic of Lamictal XR (lamotrigine) extended-release tablets in 250-mg dosage strength. 
     
    The drug is indicated as an adjunctive therapy for patients older than 13 years of age with tonic-clonic seizure or partial-onset seizures with or without secondary generalization, and as monotherapy in patients older than 13 with partial onset seizures receiving treatment with a single AED. 
     
  • Teva launches generic Symmetrel

    NORTH WALES, Penn. — Teva Pharmaceuticals recently launched its generic of Symmetrel (amantadine hydrochloride). The drug is indicated to treat and prevent influenza A and as a treatment for parkinsonism and drug-induced extrapyramidal reactions. 
     
  • Teva completes sale of U.K., Ireland Actavis business to Intas’s Accord Healthcare

    JERUSALEM and AHMEDABAD, India — The sale of Teva’s Actavis U.K. and Actavis Ireland to Intas Pharmaceuticals through its subsidiary Accord Healthcare for £603 million, Intas announced Tuesday. The transaction is part of the European Commission’s antitrust divestiture requirements surrounding Teva’s acquisition of Allergan’s generics business. 
     
  • Aurobindo gets FDA approval for generic Xopenex

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved Aurobindo’s generic of Xopenex (levalbuterol inhalation solution). The drug is indicated to treat or prevent bronchospasm in adults, adolescents and children 6 years of age and older with reversible obstructive airway disease. 
     
    Aurobindo’s generic will be available in formulations of 0.31 mg/3 mL, 0.63 mg/3 mL and 1.25 mg/3 mL. The drug had a market size of $130 million for the 12 months ended November 2016, according to QuintilesIMS data. 
  • Sandoz launches generic Emend capsules

    PRINCETON, N.J. — Sandoz on Wednesday announced the launch of its generic of Emend (aprepitant) capsules. The drug is indicated to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by certain chemotherapy medicines in patients ages 12 years and older, as well as to prevent nausea and vomiting after surgery.
