  • Survey: Weighty Americans seeking fitness, nutrition

    NEW YORK — The desire to be in good shape and look good is one of the prime reasons people exercise, but Americans appear to be frustratingly far from their goals. In a new survey on fitness by ReportLinker, a majority of Americans were quick to find flaws in their physique. Just a third of respondents say they believe they’re in good shape, and 42% consider themselves to be too fat.

CVS Pharmacy executives celebrated the grand opening of the new store in Parker, Colo. — the first of three slated to open in the greater Denver market this year — with state Sen.   • Study: Hospitalized flu patients who never got vaccinated are twice as likely to die

    ATLANTA — A new study in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases found that flu vaccination reduced deaths, intensive care unit admissions, ICU length of stay and overall duration of hospitalization among hospitalized flu patients. This study is an important first step in better understanding whether flu vaccines can reduce severe flu outcomes even if they fail to protect against infection.
