    CHICAGO — A company that makes smoothies for dieters has introduced a new small size designed for convenience.

    RightSize announced the launch of 8-oz. single-serve packs of its smoothies in the Lean Cocoa Bean, SkinniVanilli, Slend-A-Berry and Leano Cappuccino flavors.

  • Crystal Farms products receive Weight Watchers endorsement

    MINNETOKA, Minn — AllWhites egg whites and Better'n Eggs egg substitute from Crystal Farms have been endorsed by Weight Watchers, the company announced. Both products received a 0 PointsPlus value per serving.

     

    With Weight Watchers, every food has a PointsPlus value that takes into account the food's protein, carbohydrates, fat and fiber. Based on Weight Watchers' calculation, AllWhites and Better'n Eggs have 0 PointsPlus value per serving.

  • Rising cost of cigarettes and increased awareness over health risks driving more smokers to make quit attempt

    WASHINGTON — New results from a national online public opinion poll of Americans 18 and older show that 34% of smokers plan to quit smoking as a New Year’s resolution in 2013, as compared to only 18% who reported that quitting smoking was a New Year’s resolution in 2012. Increasing costs of cigarettes (67%) and concerns about the health risks associated with smoking (58%) were two of the key factors motivating smokers to contemplate quitting as a resolution for 2013.
