  • Kroger names King Soopers president

    CINCINNATI - Kroger on Tuesday named Dennis Gibson president of the company's King Soopers division, effective July 1. Gibson replaces Russ Dispense, who recently announced his retirement after 51 years of service.


    Gibson has been serving as president of the company's QFC division based in Seattle since 2014.

  • More consumers to get Steripod toothbrush protection

    LOS ANGELES – Personal care products brand Steripod has expanded the distribution for its market leading clip-on toothbrush protector.

    The product is now available in 30,000 stores across the United States, including for the first time at 6,000 CVS and 6,000 Walgreens stores. Additionally, Steripod has added 200 Meijer stores, Shopco Wisconsin locations and will roll out to 1,000 plus Kroger Group stores nationwide later this year.

  • Harris Teeter to open Sterling, Va. location with in-store health services

    MATTHEWS, N.C. — Harris Teeter on Thursday announced a planned grand opening for its newest location. The new store, located in Sterling Va., will be opened with an event on June 15 at 8 a.m. that will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony and in-store sampling. 
     
    The 52,000-sq. ft. store will be open 24/7 and feature a drive-thru pharmacy, as well as free blood pressure testing, private professional consultations and drug interaction and allergy screenings. 
     
  • Kroger brings curbside pickup to Houston market

    HOUSTON -- The Kroger Houston division on Thursday invited area customers to try ClickList, an online grocery ordering service, at select stores in the area. As an introductory offer, Kroger will waive the $4.95 service charge for a customer's first three orders.

    ClickList, which is exclusive to Kroger, allows customers to shop online and pick up their order curbside at one of 22 the participating store locations expected to operate the new service by the beginning of fall 2016.

    His successor will be announced at a later date, Kroger stated.

  • Kroger partners with Detroit health system on better eating program

    DETROIT - Henry Ford Health System, a six-hospital system headquartered here, and Kroger on Wednesday announced a new partnership designed to answer common dietary health questions and help consumers eat and shop healthier.

    Henry Ford LiveWell Wednesdays debuts June 1 at all 126 Kroger stores throughout Michigan. Every Wednesday, Henry Ford will provide Kroger shoppers with a healthy recipe developed by registered dietitian nutritionists. Shoppers will receive a brochure including a list of all ingredients needed for the recipe and a link to a video cooking demonstration.
