    LAS VEGAS — Carma Labs last week featured two new products at the ECRM Cough & Cold and Allergy EPPS.

    The company introduced an orange-flavored Carmex creamy lip conditioner formulated with 13 moisturizers, including cocoa butter, and its Carmex ultra moisturizing lip balm now is available in a pomegranate flavor.

    NEW YORK  — NYC New York Color, a Coty beauty brand, is rolling out several new lip products for spring 2012, including its new City Duet 2-in-1 Split lipstick, which features two shades in a single bullet.

    The lipstick offers two lip colors in one so beauty mavens can choose a single shade or blend both complementary hues for a radiant effect. The new Split lipstick, which is priced at $2.99 each, comes in such shades as The Vintage Pinks, The Madison Bronzes and The Empire Lilacs.

    PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. — Prestige makeup sales experienced growth during the first 10 months of the year, with the nail segment coming out a winner all around with a $50-plus increase in both nail enamel and top/base coats, according to beauty market research conducted by the NPD Group.

  • Prestige makeup sales garner solid gains, NPD reports

    PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. — Total sales of prestige makeup experienced healthy gains during the first five months of the year, thanks to trends in dramatic eyes, soft lip shades and bold and bright nail colors, according to new beauty market research by NPD.

    Year-to-date — January through May — total prestige makeup sales increased by 9% to $1.4 billion in U.S. department stores, according to the market research company. For the month of May alone, makeup posted its strongest dollar performance (+11%) in the last three years.
