    NEW YORK — Smartphones and tablets may hold the key to getting more clinicians to screen patients for tobacco use and advise smokers on how to quit. Using mobile phones loaded with tobacco screening guidelines prompted nurses to ask patients about their smoking habits in 84% of clinic visits and to offer cessation counseling to 99% of smokers who expressed a willingness to kick the habit, according to a study from Columbia University School of Nursing published in Oncology Nursing Forum.

    NEW YORK — Lebhar-Friedman Publishing, in collaboration with Walgreens, on Friday announced the launch of Discover Beauty Within, the first exclusive, beauty publication for the mass retailer. The quarterly publication will make its nationwide debut at the end of March at all Walgreens (except in Puerto Rico) and Duane Reade drug stores.

  • Greenstone adds Piroxicam capsules to generics line

    PEAPACK, N.J. — Greenstone announced the introduction of Piroxicam capsules to its generic pharmaceutical product line. The drug is offered in dosage strengths of 10 mg and 20 mg, and is the generic equivalent to Feldene.

    Piroxicam is intended for the relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. This new, authorized generic adds to Greenstone’s growing line of products, and is backed by the distribution and customer service support of Pfizer Inc., the company said.
