  • Teva announces launch of Adasuve

    JERUSALEM — Teva Pharmaceutical Industries announced the launch of Adasuve (loxapine) inhalation powder in a 10-mg dosage. The drug is the first and only orally inhaled medicine for the acute treatment of agitation associated with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder in adults.

  • Oral-B launches oral care app for children to help increase brushing time

    CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble’s Oral-B has announced the launch of an oral care app for children — the Disney Magic Timer App by Oral-B.

    Created in collaboration with Disney and powered by DreamPlay, the oral care app is designed to helps kids increase brushing time, which is identified by dentists as an area of concern and improvement for children.

  • Sunny Delight teams up with SodaStream

    CINCINNATI and AIRPORT CITY, Israel — SodaStream, a manufacturer of home beverage carbonation systems, announced that it has entered into an agreement with Sunny Delight Beverages Co., a producer of juice-based drinks. The companies will co-develop flavors like SunnyD Tangy Original Orange and Orange-Strawberry exclusively for the SodaStream system.

  • Lupin gets FDA approval for generic Mycobutin

    MUMBAI and BALTIMORE — Lupin on Wednesday announced that it received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for rifabutin capsules USP, 150 mg — a generic version of Pharmacia and Upjohn Company's Mycobutin capsules. The company's U.S. subsidiary will begin marketing the product soon.

    The drug is used for the prevention of disseminated Mycobacterium avium complex disease in patients with advanced HIV infection. Mycobutin capsules had annual sales of $18.6 million in the United States, according to IMS MAT.

  • Verizon’s Converged Health Management platform gains 510(k) clearance

    NEW YORK — Verizon’s Converged Health Management, a remote patient-monitoring medical platform designed to help clinicians and patients manage patients’ health in between doctor visits, recently received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance to run on the iOS mobile operating system, Verizon announced Tuesday. 

    Patients and clinicians now will be able to access Verizon’s solution on their iPhones and can use their iPads to access the Converged Health Management portal.
