  • United Therapeutics PAH drug wins approval

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug made by United Therapeutics for treating pulmonary arterial hypertension, the company said Monday.

    The FDA approved Orenitram (treprostinil) extended-release tablets for treating certain PAH patients to improve exercise capacity. PAH is a disease in which abnormally high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs causes the right side of the heart to work harder than normal, according to the National Library of Medicine.

  • About 130,000 people use SoloHealth Stations per day, company says

    ATLANTA — Health kiosks made by SoloHealth are being used about 40 million times per year, the company said Friday.

    The kiosk maker said its SoloHealth Stations around the country had an average of 10 million users per quarter, or almost 130,000 per day, with Texas, Florida, California, Georgia and North Carolina leading other states. The numbers were based on "consumer engagements," which refers to a consumer taking at least one test per session. There are currently at least 3,500 of the kiosks in the market.

    DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Procter & Gamble's Olay unit has introduced two new additions to its White Radiance collection of products, the company said.

    The two products, Intensive Fairness Serum and Intensive Fairness Cream, use cellular-level technology and also contain a ultraviolet light blocker with an increased SPF 50 formula.
