  • Endo acquires NuPathe for $105 million

    MALVERN, Pa. – Endo Health Solutions will acquire the maker of a patch used to treat migraines that received Food and Drug Administration approval at the beginning of this year.

    Endo said Monday that it would buy NuPathe for $105 million. In January, the FDA approved NuPathe's patch, Zecuity, a disposable, single-use, battery-powered transdermal patch that delivers the drug sumatriptan, the most widely prescribed migraine medication.

  • PharmaSmart, Sav-Mor/Sav-On enter kiosk-supply deal

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. — PharmaSmart International has signed a deal with Sav-Mor/Sav-On Pharmacies to supply its kiosks in the Michigan-based retail pharmacy network's stores, PharmaSmart said Friday.

    PharmaSmart will install its blood pressure and pulse kiosks in the stores, and patients will be able to access their Blood Pressure Tracker personal health records at Sav-Mor's and Sav-On's websites.

    Baby Elephant Ears, invented by mother Alicia Overby, provide spinal and neck alignment and can be placed behind babies' necks while they're in the stroller, swing, car seat or on the changing table.

  • Study: GSK’s FluLaval Quadrivalent reduces flu cases among children ages 3 years to 8 years by 55.4%

    PHILADELPHIA — GlaxoSmithKline on Wednesday announced that a peer-reviewed study issued online by the New England Journal of Medicine has reported that GSK’s FluLaval Quadrivalent reduced flu cases among children ages 3 years to 8 years by 55.4% overall and lowered the risk of developing moderate-to-serious flu illness by 73.1%.

  • Kaz launches Braun Forehead Thermometer

    SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Kaz on Thursday announced the launch of the Braun Forehead Thermometer, which features a lightweight, ergonomic design, providing a step-by-step on-product usage guide and user-facing digital temperature readouts on a large, backlit screen. 

    In addition, the thermometer's fever guidance system indicates the severity of each reading with a green, yellow or red light, helping parents easily decipher and monitor the status of their child's temperature.
