  • Butterball introduces line of turkey meat snacks

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Butterball has entered a licensing agreement with Monogram Food Solutions, LLC, a Memphis, Tenn.-based manufacturer of processed meat, to launch a new line of turkey meat snacks featuring jerky, turkey bacon jerky, turkey nuggets and turkey snack sticks.

    BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Pop-Tarts has "Gone Nutty" with the newest addition to its line of breakfast pastries launching two new varieties of peanut butter-filled items after high customer demand.

    "Peanut butter has long been the most requested flavor by our fans," said Dick Podiak, director of marketing for Pop-Tarts. "We think everyone will agree it was worth the wait once they taste these delicious new varieties."

  • Target to market DC comics-themed merchandise

    MINNEAPOLIS — Superheroes like Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and others will be showing up at Target stores this summer.

    The mass merchandise retailer has signed a deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment to introduce Justice League merchandise. Other characters in the comic franchise include Aquaman, Cyborg, The Flash and Wonder Woman. The collection will appear at all Target stores on Sunday and will include products like melamine dinnerware, sand toys and beach towels. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

  • Fuse Science announces rollout strategy for its energy drops — select Walgreens near PGA tourneys

    MIAMI LAKES, Fla. — Fuse Science on Thursday announced extended distribution for its PowerFuse and ElectroFuse energy drops across select Walgreens stores in the Ponte Verde, Fla., market for the Players Championship Tournament. Point-of-purchase displays feature NFL's Arian Foster and David Ortiz of MLB's Boston Red Sox. 

    The Fuse Science distribution strategy is focused on rolling out product lines within Walgreens locations situated near select PGA tournaments around the country up until, and including, the 2013 U.S. Open in June.

  • FDA approves Breo Ellipta for COPD

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the agency said Friday.

    The FDA announced the approval of Breo Ellipta (fluticasone furoate and vilanterol), a once-per-day inhaler made by GlaxoSmithKline and Theravance for long-term treatment of COPD, which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
