  • Caribou Coffee celebrates 20 years with Anniversary Blend

    MINNEAPOLIS — Caribou Coffee, originally founded by Kim and John Puckett, is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Dec. 14. To commemorate 20 years of roasting exceptional coffee, Caribou released their Anniversary Blend coffee on Nov. 25 featuring the original Caribou Blend recipe, as well as thanking their loyal fans with a 20-day anniversary celebration.

  • FDA grants Astellas NDA for tacrolimus extended-release capsules

    NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Astellas Pharma US announced the Food and Drug Administration's review of their new drug application for tacrolimus extended-release capsules, a once-daily formulation of the calcineurin-inhibitor immunosuppressant tacrolimus, for the prophylaxis of organ rejection in adult kidney transplant recipients and adult male liver transplant recipients.

  • Fragrance sets remain popular for holiday season

    NEW YORK — Fragrance gift sets are no doubt a popular choice during the holiday season, and manufacturers hope that this year is no exception.

    Over the course of the entire year, 40% of individual fragrance sales take place during the holidays, while 80% of fragrance gift set sales occur during the holiday season, according to stats from the SymphonyIRI Group database cited by Coty.

  • Atkins Nutritionals introduces Atkins Frozen Meals

    DENVER — Atkins Nutritionals has launched a line of low-carbohydrate frozen meals that will be available nationwide starting in January 2013, the company said.

    Atkins said Atkins Frozen Meals, which includes nine entrees, were developed with a focus on taste and ingredients such as vegetables, creams, sauces, and meats without any fillers or preservatives. Dishes include pot pies without the crust, turkey and green beans without stuffing, and egg scrambles without hash browns.

M&M'S has a rich, "colorful" history dating back more than 70 years. Fans were never given the chance to choose specific color combinations for mass-produced packages — until now. Mars Chocolate North America announced new limited edition 8-oz.

  • Albertsons to feature gluten-free pizzas from Better4U Foods

    DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — More than five-dozen Albertsons stores in the West will start selling gluten-free frozen pizzas this month.

    Better4U Foods said Friday that 63 stores in Albertsons' Intermountain West Division — which includes Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming — would stock the pizzas. Pizza varieties will include Gluten-Free Four Cheese, Gluten-Free Uncured Pepperoni and the vegan Dairy-Free Gluten-Free Roasted Vegetable.

  • Mylan launches generic hypertension drug

    PITTSBURGH — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic hypertension drug made by Mylan, the company said.

    Mylan announced the approval and launch of candesartan cilexetil and hydrochlorothiazide tablets in the 16/12.5-mg, 32/12.5-mg and 32/25-mg strengths. Mylan said it was the first company to submit a complete regulatory approval application for the drug and is thus entitled to 180 days of market exclusivity in which to compete directly with the branded version.

  • Brush Buddies expands singing toothbrush category with One Direction toothbrush

    FONTANA, Calif. — Brush Buddies, a maker of of licensed manual toothbrushes, and Global Merchandising Services has announced that One Direction is the newest artist to be featured on the line of Brush Buddies Singing Toothbrushes. 

    Brush Buddies created the Singing Toothbrush category during the summer of 2011 with their launch of two products that each feature two hit songs by Justin Bieber. Brush Buddies expanded the category with new products in 2012 featuring new songs by Bieber and artists Lady Gaga and LMFAO.
