    ATLANTA — Kiosk maker SoloHealth will promote the new Health Insurance Marketplace and the website HealthCare.gov under an agreement with the Department of Health and Human Services, the company said Monday.

    ST. LOUIS — Targeted healthcare communications company LDM Group is adding Kmart to its network, LDM said Friday.

    As part of the network, Kmart will offer its PharmacistCare and CarePoints messaging systems to pharmacists and patients, with the goal of improving patients' medication adherence and overall health outcomes.

  • Global mobile health market set to hit $20.7 billion by 2018, report finds

    DALLAS — The global market for mobile health apps and other products is expected to reach a value of nearly $21 billion in five years, according to a new report.

    Market research firm MarketsandMarkets announced Thursday the release of the report, which analyzed the market for mobile health through 2018 in North America, Europe, Asia and elsewhere, forecasting that it would be worth about $20.7 billion by then. The market is currently valued at about $6.3 billion.

    NEW YORK — A patient-engagement and Medicare decision-making platform is now available in 500 pharmacies across the country.

    iMedicare said the growth of the platform would help thousands of seniors enroll in affordable health insurance and prescription drug coverage by enabling pharmacists to help them shop for Medicare insurance plans, automatically integrating their prescription medications in one mobile system.

    iMedicare works with major pharmacy software systems like Rx30, QS/1, Computer-Rx and others.

  • ScriptPro to use biometric authentication systems from Xelios

    MISSION, Kan. — The pharmacy automation and management systems made by ScriptPro will begin using biometric authentication technology from Xelios Biometrics, under a multi-year licensing agreement between the two companies.

    The companies said such biometric identifiers as fingerprints would be more reliable in verifying identity than identification cards or personal identification numbers, which are currently used in ScriptPro's systems. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

  • FlavoRx, RxNT integrate medicine flavoring with e-prescribing, electronic health record applications

    COLUMBIA, Md. — RxNT's e-prescribing and electronic health record systems will incorporate taste options recommended by FlavoRx for liquid medications given to children in order to promote medication adherence, the two companies said.
