  • PrescribeWellness expands pharmacy practice innovation team with new hire

    IRVINE, Calif. — PrescribeWellness on Tuesday announced a new addition to its pharmacy practice innovation team as it advances its delivery of clinical services to its national pharmacy network. Farah Madhat will be the company’s new director of clinical services, joining the company from OptumRx, where she directed that company’s pharmacy reimbursement/pharmacy audit division. 
     
  • McKesson, TriZetto to integrate ClaimsXten, QNXT systems

    NEWTON, Mass. and DENVER — McKesson Health Solutions and TriZetto announced Monday that they would be integrating TriZetto’s QNXT enterprise core administration system with McKesson’s ClaimsXten and Claims Xten Select claims auditing solutions. The collaboration is aimed at helping payers automate payment and medical policy while simplifying management of complex clinical and reimbursement rules. 
     
  • QS/1 offers interface with Omnicell’s SureMed

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. — QS/1 announced Tuesday that it was the first pharmacy management technology company to interface with Omnicell’s SureMed Guided Packing software, which increases pharmacy accuracy in filling multiple medication blister cards. 
     
    “QS/1 is honored to partner with Omnicell to offer this packaging solution to pharmacies,” QS/1 president Tammy Devine said. “This software interface will not only help pharmacies be more productive but will help improve patient medication adherence.”
  • TelePharm adds Kevin Combs as VP sales

    IOWA CITY, Iowa — Digital health care company TelePharm on Monday announced that it had named Kevin Combs VP sales. Combs brings to the company a 25-year career in the health care and technology industry. He will be overseeing the company’s sales team, working to drive national sales strategies to generate demand while creating awareness around TelepPharm’s software platform.

    SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan. — Pharmacy First and Ateb on Thursday announced a partnership to offer Ateb's Time My Meds, an integrated medication synchronization solution, to Pharmacy First members.
     
    By implementing Ateb's Time My Meds, Pharmacy First members will witness significant, measurable impact on increasing prescription fills and improving quality measures. Patients enrolled in Ateb's Time My Meds program reach above Medicare five-star PDC score thresholds for diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol, Ateb noted.
  • iMedicare reports saving patients $287.5 million in 2015

    NEW YORK — Medicare plan comparison platform iMedicare on Thursday announced that in 2-15 it helped more than 250,000 patients save an average of $1,150 on their expected Medicare Part D costs — a collective savings of $287.5 million. 

  • ZappRx taps former Walgreens specialty exec to drive growth

    BOSTON — Specialty prescribing platform ZappRx announced Wednesday that Lorrie Carr would be joining the company as its chief commercial officer. Most recently, Carr was Walgreens’ divisional VP enterprise specialty sales and product management. Carr will oversee ZappRx’s commercialization efforts as it launches and looks to expand its specialty prescribing and management platform.
