  • From ‘wearables to ther-ables’

    Unit shipments for wearable devices were expected to drive about $32 billion in revenue by 2019 — more than three times the $10 billion in revenue the market saw in 2013, according to a 2015 IHS Technology white paper on the wearables market. Beside the business applications IHS identified, it also focused on consumer possibilities in the wearables market — as fitness trackers, health data collectors and beyond.

    FORT WORTH, Texas — PDX and MarkeTouch Media recently announced a new integration that will incorporate the certification of the PDX EPS Patient Notification Service with MarkeTouch Media’s outbound and mobile notifications for prescription status updates.

  • New PBM SentinelRx launches

     
    DETROIT — New pharmacy benefit manager SentinelRx announced its launch on Tuesday, noting that it aims to create a custom pharmacy experience for customers through high transparency and personalized service. 
     
    The company said it uses web-based pharmacy benefit system MERLIN, which has 16 integrated modules that can aid in personalizing service for each client. It provides drug access through a network of more than 66,000 pharmacies in 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. 
  • MedM Health Cloud integrates Walgreens' Balance Rewards API

    DEERFIELD, Ill. - Walgreens on Wednesday announced that MedM Health Cloud has now integrated the Balance Rewards API. 
     
    MedM has built a healthy activity cloud platform, allowing users to track everything from step tracking to blood glucose/pressure monitoring. Walgreens is bringing in an integration that stores healthy activities from more than 200 connected devices. 
     
  • Survey: These social networks most influence purchases

    BOSTON -- When it comes to buying products, consumers are particular about who and what they trust to get advice.

    According to a survey of nearly 14,000 adults conducted in early March by social retail technology provider Collective Bias, Facebook and YouTube are the most persuasive social channels for consumer purchases. About 19% of consumers find Facebook to influence their purchasing decision most, with YouTube coming in second at nearly 18%. YouTube is especially popular with men (23%) compared to women (14%).
