LANGLEY, British Columbia — Pharmasave on Monday opened store No. 600,  marking a key milestone since the Canadian pharmacy operation first started operations 36 years ago, the company stated.

SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs introduced a specialty pharmacy service at all of its 65 Washington State locations.

Some of the difficult-to-treat conditions may include cancer, hepatitis B and C, HIV, rheumatoid arthritis and a host of other medical conditions requiring very specialized medications and therapy regimens.

“Being diagnosed and entering treatment can be overwhelming,” states Bartell’s Clinical Programs Manager, Christina Ree. “Our Specialty Pharmacy program helps take the fear out of the process and replaces it with confidence.”

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The National Community Pharmacists Association on Tuesday announced it will hold its 2017 Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In April 26-27, when hundreds of community pharmacists will visit the nation’s capital to advocate for community pharmacy and their patients.

TAMPA, Fla. — Costco is entering the grocery delivery game via a partnership with online grocery marketplace Shipt. Beginning Tuesday, customers in the Tampa, Fla., region were able to receive home delivery of Costco products.

AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market will be offering discounts on its facial care and cosmetics products for a week. From March 22-28, the company’s facial care and cosmetics offerings will be 25% off, and stores will offer a limited-edition, $18 beauty bag on March 24.

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. — QuickChek announced John Schaninger, VP of sales and marketing, left the company and has been replaced by former Rite Aid COO Rob Easley.

Schaninger served QuickChek, operator of 10 pharmacy locations, for 38 years. He left to pursue other interests.

"John has played a vital role in the growth of QuickChek," said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. "He felt the time was right to pursue other opportunities. We thank him for his many years of service and all the contributions he has made."

CINCINNATI — Kroger on Monday named Joe Grieshaber the president of Fred Meyer Stores, replacing Jeff Burt, who resigned from the company. Target on Monday announced Burt would be joining its ranks to lead its grocery business, effective April 10. Previous to his new post, Grieshaber has been serving as president of Kroger's Columbus division.

IRVINE, Calif. — The majority of Americans prefer visiting their local pharmacy to get their inoculations, as opposed to visiting the doctor's office, according to  the PrescribeWellness 2017 Vaccination and Preventive Care Survey.

Of the 62% of survey respondents who chose pharmacy over practitioner, most of the reasons hinged upon convenience.
