  • Supervalu names Dament SVP of retail, merchandising and marketing

    MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu named Anne Dament its SVP of retail, merchandising and marketing, effective immediately.

    In her new role, Dament will lead the company’s retail banner operations, oversee retail merchandising and marketing functions, and report to Mark Gross, Supervalu’s president and CEO.

  • Kroger hires D.C.-based government relations executive

    CINCINNATI — Kroger on Tuesday named Matt Perin head of government relations and regulatory affairs.

    "Matt's involvement and relationships with leaders in Washington will help advance our federal and state lobbying efforts and elevate Kroger's unique story among these influential stakeholders," stated Dailey, Kroger's senior director of external affairs. "We look forward to having Matt's expertise on the ground in Washington."

  • Sale of pharmacy business impacts Target sales

    MINNEAPOLIS — Target’s sale of its pharmacy and clinic business in December 2015 to CVS Health impacted sales, with the company announcing Wednesday that November/December 2016 sales decreased 4.9% year over year.

    On a comparable basis, total sales declined by 1.3% year over year.

  • Ahold USA promotes Sussman to EVP merchandising

    CARLISLE, Pa. — Ahold USA on Tuesday announced position changes or expansions for three of its executives. The company has appointed Stop & Shop New York Metro division president Andrew Sussman to the position of EVP merchandising. Sussman replaces Andrew Iacobucci, who has decided to leave the company for an opportunity outside of the retail grocery industry. 
     
  • Kroger, Walgreens executives recipients of NCA 2017 Confectionery Leadership Award

    WASHINGTON – The National Confectioners Association on Monday announced that Christina Groth from Kroger and Brian Rinker from Walgreens are the recipients of the 2017 Confectionery Leadership Awards. The award celebrates the honorees’ contributions to the category through their effective business collaboration, category management best practices, and innovations in merchandising confectionery products in-store.

  • Walgreens Balance Rewards now integrated with Android Pay

    PHOENIX  — Equinox Payments on Wednesday announced that all Equinox terminal solutions are now integrated with Android Pay, including the L5300 multi-lane terminals used by Walgreens, the first retailer to integrate its loyalty program with Android Pay on the L5300s in its stores nationwide.

  • McKesson Health Solutions enables cloud-based implementations for InterQual Criteria

    NEWTON, Mass.— McKesson Health Solutions on Tuesday announced that InterQual Criteria is now accessible on-demand through new cloud-based implementations of InterQual Online, InterQual Anonymous Review and InterQual Transparency. This transition brings the benefits of cloud computing to InterQual customers, including multi-tenant access via popular web browsers, automatic updates and reduced maintenance requirements.

  • Southeastern Grocers names new VP pharmacy

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Southeastern Grocers on Tuesday announced a new addition. The company has tapped Gayle Shields to be its new VP pharmacy. In her new role, Shields will oversee day-to-day and strategic operations for the company’s pharmacy locations.
