  • CVS Health efforts have helped collect 47 metric tons of unwanted meds

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. – CVS Health is releasing new data illustrating the impact of the company's Medication Disposal for Safer Communities program ahead of the upcoming National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 22. Since 2014, the company's disposal program has donated a total of 626 drug disposal units to police departments in 42 states, collecting more than 47 metric tons of unwanted medication.

  • United Nations Foundation gives Global Leadership Award to Walgreens Boots Alliance

    NEW YORK — Walgreens Boots Alliance will be honored with the Global Leadership Award at the United Nations Foundation’s 2016 Global Leadership Awards Dinner Wednesday evening, Walgreens Boots Alliance announced.

    Walgreens Boots Alliance’s co-COO Ornella Barra will accept the Global Leadership Award on behalf of the company.

  • BJ's Wholesale Club surpasses 50 million pounds of food donated

    WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- BJ's Wholesale Club has donated more than 50 million pounds of food through its BJ's Feeding Communities Program.

    BJ's has contributed items to 45 food banks including fresh produce, frozen meats and fish, baked goods and dairy items. In partnership with Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization, BJ's clubs have donated unsold fresh foods to network member food banks since 2011.

  • CVS Pay goes national

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. - CVS Health on Wednesday announced the national rollout of CVS Pay, an end-to-end mobile payment solution at CVS Pharmacy. CVS Pay is now part of the CVS Pharmacy mobile app, and integrates payment, prescription pickup and the ExtraCare loyalty program all into one quick scan at checkout.

  • Supervalu Q2 sees 4.6% net sales decrease

    MINNEAPOLIS — On the heels of its Monday announcement that it would be selling its Save-A-Lot business, Supervalu on Wednesday reported it Q2 2016, reporting a 4.6% decrease in net sales compared to last year.  The company’s CEO, Mark Gross, acknowledged the decrease in sales while noting that he expects higher wholesale sales in the second half of the year to be higher than last year as it adds customers and grows its base business. 
     
  • Tom Thumb, Albertsons introduce Fort Worth-area grocery delivery

    FORT WORTH, Texas  — Albertsons and banner Tom Thumb on Wednesday announced a new grocery delivery program in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that will see a fleet of home delivery trucks hitting the streets in the area. The grocery delivery service will be available to Tom Thumb and Albertsons customers at tomthumb.com and through the Tom Thumb Android and iOS delivery app.
