  • Supervalu Q2 sees 4.6% net sales decrease

    MINNEAPOLIS — On the heels of its Monday announcement that it would be selling its Save-A-Lot business, Supervalu on Wednesday reported it Q2 2016, reporting a 4.6% decrease in net sales compared to last year.  The company’s CEO, Mark Gross, acknowledged the decrease in sales while noting that he expects higher wholesale sales in the second half of the year to be higher than last year as it adds customers and grows its base business. 
     
  • Walgreens reaches goal of installing more than 500 safe medication disposal kiosks

    DEERFIELD, Ill. - Walgreens on Tuesday announced it has reached its goal of installing more than 500 safe medication disposal kiosks this year at its pharmacies in 35 states and Washington D.C.

  • NCPA Digest: More than 22,000 pharmacists revolutionizing health service delivery

    NEW ORLEANS – There are more than 22,160 independent community pharmacies who are a critical prescription drug access point for patients, particularly in underserved areas  - 82% of independent community pharmacies serve population areas of 50,000 or less - the National Community Pharmacists Association reported Tuesday, citing the just-published 2016 NCPA Digest sponsored by Cardinal Health.

  • Kmart Pharmacy teams up with Alzheimer’s Foundation of America

    NEW YORK — The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America is teaming up with Kmart Pharmacy to offer free, confidential memory screenings nationwide.

    Throughout the entire month of November — Alzheimer’s Awareness Month — all Kmart Pharmacy locations will offer free memory screenings.

  • Kroger raises nearly $450,000 in support of Hurricane Matthew relief efforts

    CINCINNATI - Kroger announced Tuesday its family of companies has raised nearly $106,000 from customer and associate contributions to assist Hurricane Matthew relief efforts. Kroger and its subsidiaries have also delivered in-kind contributions of food and water valued at $235,000 to local food banks and Red Cross relief stations and $52,000 in pet food to animal shelters, in storm-impacted areas.

    In addition, Kroger has committed to a corporate gift of $50,000 for a total contribution of more than $443,000 to support hurricane relief efforts.
