  • CVS Health makes adherence easier with introduction of CVS Health Medication Timer Caps

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. – CVS Pharmacy recently announced the launch of CVS Health Medication Timer Caps, available now online and in stores at a price of $9.99 for three caps. The adherence tools mark the newest addition to the signature brand line, CVS Health.

    Without any complicated timers to set or buttons to press, customers can now simply put the child-resistant cap on their CVS Pharmacy prescription to keep track of when they last took their medication.

  • Target first to announce holiday hiring plans

    The holiday hiring wars have begun.

    Target Corp. is the first national retailer to announce its holiday hiring plans with the news that it plans to hire 70,000 seasonal store associates. The amount is the same as last year.

  • Industry supports latest House bill addressing DIR fees

    WASHINGTON - Rep. Morgan Griffith, R-Va., along with Rep. Peter Welch, D-Vt., and seven other Members of Congress, on Thursday introduced the Improving Transparency and Accuracy in Medicare Part D Spending Act (H.R. 5951), which would ensure community pharmacists receive reimbursement at the rate posted at the time the prescription is filled.

  • Jo-Ann Stores names Fred’s, Walgreens vet to new exec role

    Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores has appointed Bryan Pugh to the newly created position of executive VP, stores and store operations. He will lead financial, operational and cultural leadership of Jo-Ann Stores.
       
    Pugh joins Jo-Ann from Fred’s Pharmacy & Super Dollar where he served as executive VP, chief merchandising and marketing officer. His experience also includes serving as senior VP, chief merchandising officer at Walgreen Co. in addition to several roles of increasing responsibility at Tesco.

  • HHS, Walgreens commit $10 million in free flu shots to uninsured

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, in collaboration with Walgreens, will help provide more than $10 million worth of free flu shot vouchers this flu season to improve flu immunization rates among uninsured Americans, Walgreens announced Thursday. Through the initiative, which is in its seventh year, Walgreens has provided more than $50 million worth of vouchers to communities across the country.
