The company has named Vineet Mehra global chief marketing officer, Annie Murphy global chief commercial officer and Colin Nelson senior vice president and chief global supply chain officer.
As it posted an overall sales increase of 9.9.%, Walgreens Boots Alliance's retail pharmacy USA segment saw sales of $25.7 billion — a 14.4% year-over-year increase, which was largely attributable to acquired Rite Aid stores.
Walgreens Boots Alliance will be working with Verily, an Alphabet company, on multiple projects under an agreement focused on outcomes for patients with chronic conditions and lowering the cost of care.
The companies have launched Walgreens Express, a service that will provide next-day delivery nationwide, as well as same-day delivery in select markets.
The expansion will bring Kroger Express — a 2,300-product assortment that includes and Home Chef meal kits and products from national brands and Kroger's own brands — to 13 Walgreens locations in Northern Kentucky.
