  • Wedgewood Pharmacy named Marcum Innovator of the Year

    SWEDESBORO, N.J. — Accounting and Advisory Services firm Marcum has given compounding pharmacy Wedgewood Pharmacy its Innovator of they Year Award. Wedgewood Pharmacy was selected from among 37 finalists in the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area, and the award was given at a ceremony at Philadelphia’s Sugarhouse Casino on Oct. 26. 
     

  • Thrifty White Specialty Pharmacy gets CPPA accreditation

    WASHINGTON — The Center for Pharmacy Practice Accreditation has accredited Thrifty White Specialty Pharmacy, the organization announced Friday. Thrifty White, based in Fargo, N.D., offers its specialty patients full pharmacy support services and has expanded its capabilities to serve specialty patients in all 50 states, in addition to the specialty medication pickup it offers at 90 of its retail locations. 
     

  • AmerisourceBergen wraps ThinkLive 2016 manufacturer summit

    DALLAS — AmerisouceBergen on Friday concluded ThinkLive 2016, the company’s annual two-day manufacturer summit, which this year saw more than 500 pharmaceutical manufacturers come together with AmerisourceBergen experts to drive collaboration and innovation in pharmaceutical care. 
     
    At the event’s general session, AmerisourceBergen EVP global sourcing and manufacturer relations Peyton Howell and president, chairman and CEO Steve Collis delivered remarks about the key trends impacting pharmaceutical care delivery. 

  • Unilever's Walgreens team accepts RSi 2016 Awards for Excellence grand prize

    MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - Retail Solutions, Inc. earlier this week announced the winners of the RSi 2016 Awards for Excellence. The 1st Annual Awards program recognized seven key supplier teams based on their achievements with data analytics in the retail space. The award winners were supplier teams working directly with their respective retail leaders at Ahold, Target and Walgreens.

  • United Nations Foundation gives Global Leadership Award to Walgreens Boots Alliance

    NEW YORK — Walgreens Boots Alliance will be honored with the Global Leadership Award at the United Nations Foundation’s 2016 Global Leadership Awards Dinner Wednesday evening, Walgreens Boots Alliance announced.

    Walgreens Boots Alliance’s co-COO Ornella Barra will accept the Global Leadership Award on behalf of the company.

  • CHPA Educational Foundation Gala 2016 coming to NYC’s Rainbow Room

    NEW YORK — CHPA and the CHPA Educational Foundation will be holding the CHPA Educational Foundation Gala 2016 in New York City on November 14. The boards of both organizations will be in attendance at the gala, which will be held at the Rainbow Room, located atop 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

    NEW ORLEANS — At the National Community Pharmacist Association’s 2016 Annual Convention, the organization gave out two of its biggest awards, naming Randy McDonough year’s Willard B. Simmons Independent Pharmacist of the Year and giving the top honor from the 2016 Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Competition to a team from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy.
