  • Former Rite Aid COO named to top post at QuickChek

    WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. — QuickChek announced John Schaninger, VP of sales and marketing, left the company and has been replaced by former Rite Aid COO Rob Easley.

    Schaninger served QuickChek, operator of 10 pharmacy locations, for 38 years. He left to pursue other interests.

    "John has played a vital role in the growth of QuickChek," said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. "He felt the time was right to pursue other opportunities. We thank him for his many years of service and all the contributions he has made."

  • Kroger vet joins Target to lead grocery business

    A 30-year veteran of Kroger has joined Target to head up the discounter’s struggling grocery business. 
     

  • Revlon names new president of Elizabeth Arden, fragrances

    NEW YORK — Revlon’s fragrances and Elizabeth Arden divisions have new leadership. The company announced Tuesday that it had appointed Serge Jureidini as president, Elizabeth Arden and fragrances. He will report directly to Revlon president and CEO Fabian Garcia. 
     
  • Walmart issues $157M in bonuses to employees

    BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart issued $157 million in bonuses to 850,000 employees based upon store performance. The bonuses, along with annual pay raises, were included in employees’ March 9 paycheck.

    SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs appointed Cindy Demeules as its SVP of human resources.

  • Albertsons names Mayes SVP external affairs, chief diversity officer

    BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons on Friday appointed Jonathan Mayes to the post of SVP external affairs and chief diversity officer. In his new role, he will head up the company’s diversity and inclusion efforts, as well as its government relationships, philanthropy and sustainability departments.

  • Walgreens Boots Alliance fills chief marketing, chief merchandising positions

    DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens Boots Alliance on Friday named two executives to the chief marketing officer and chief merchandising officer positions, promoting Adam Holyk and Joe Hartsig, respectively, to those roles.

    Both will assume their new roles as of April 1 and report to Alex Gourlay, co-COO for Walgreens Boots Alliance.

  • Slew of healthcare companies named tops for executive women

    NEW YORK — A host of drug store industry-related companies were named to the 2017 National Association for Female Executives Top Companies for Executive Women. In alphabetical order, these companies, among the 60 named to the list, include Abbott Labs, Cardinal Health, Colgate Palmolive, Eli Lilly, General Mills, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg, L’Orèal, Merck, Procter & Gamble, Roche, Target and Walmart.
