  • Survey: Sales, coupons still biggest holiday sales drivers

    It still comes down to price. 
     
    Despite more modern approaches, 89% of consumers said that deep discounts (including coupons) are the key determinant of what stores they will visit for holiday shopping this year, according to a survey of millennial and Generation Z consumers conducted by HRC Retail Advisory. 
     
    In addition to finding that sales and coupons are more influential than any other tactic in motivating consumers to enter stores this holiday season, the survey also revealed: 
  • Target CIO talks deep discounts for Cyber Monday

    In a new post on Target's A Bullseye View blog, Target CIO Mike McNamara explains the reasoning behind the retailer's decision to offer an unprecedented Cyber Monday promotion: 15% off site-wide and store-wide from Nov. 27 to Nov. 28.

    McNamara says the retailer's move to combine stores and online for a more seamless holiday shopping experience marks a new chapter in Cyber Monday history.

  • Fred’s to be one-stop-shop for holiday needs

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — fred’s Pharmacy will offer sales and exclusive coupons at more than 650 locations during its “more merry for less” promotion beginning Thanksgiving Day.

    fred’s will be open on Thanksgiving from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central time and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday, when customers will be able to purchase a wide variety of holiday-related items, including décor, toys and gifts, electronics and more. These sales will continue through Nov. 26.

  • Rite Aid gears up for Black Friday

    CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid will offer its customers its best prices of the year during its Black Friday sales, which will begin as early as 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day in select stores.

    These deals, lasting through Nov. 26, will be offered on a wide array of products, including fragrance sets, snacks, pizza, ice cream, and a camera drone.

  • CVS offers new incentive for ExtraCare members during Thanksgiving weekend

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Pharmacy hopes to make consumers even more thankful this Thanksgiving. The company will kick off its three-day Black Friday event for its ExtraCare rewards members beginning Thanksgiving.

    For the first time, CVS will provide ExtraCare members with $20 in “Christmas Bucks” when ExtraCare members spend $50 on select seasonal merchandise. To earn these rewards, customers must purchase from participating products such as home décor, tree trimming items, ribbons and bows.

  • Unilever/CVS Pharmacy campaign bridges beauty and health

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A partnership between CVS Pharmacy and Unilever is showcasing the ways in which beauty plays a key role in the health and wellness aisle.

    That connection between beauty and health/wellness has provided the groundwork for these companies to collaborate on an initiative that promoted three Unilever skin care lines that are primarily beauty brands but also have strong health and wellness claims.

  • Target unveils holiday plan with 10 Days of Deals

    MINNEAPOLIS -- Target revealed on Thursday its 10 Days of Deals promotion, featuring discounts on some of the retailer's most popular products, including toys, electronics, beauty and more.

    Guests can shop the deals beginning Saturday, Nov. 19, through Monday, Nov. 28, in stores and on Target.com.
