    The first time Method co-founders Eric Ryan and Adam Lowry tried to sell their eco-friendly cleaning products into Target, the then-buyer told them the products had a “snowball’s chance in hell.” At the New General Market Summit, co-hosted by Drug Store News and Mack Elevation in April, Ryan acknowledged that while lucky breaks may have played a role, there were three key elements in Method’s business strategy that took them from that first meeting to more than $100 million in Target sales in 2016.

    DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens and Huggies earlier this month partnered on a donation of one million diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network, to be distributed to diaper banks within the National Diaper Bank Network including Cradles to Crayons of Chicago to help babies in need.

  • Albertsons, Wegmans named EPA Safer Choice Partners of the Year

    OXON HILL, Md. — Albertsons and Wegmans Food Markets were named by the Environmental Protection Agency as Safer Choice Partners of the Year for 2017, which honors outstanding achievement in the design, manufacture, promotion, and use of Safer Choice-labeled products over the past year. The awards were presented at National Harbor in Oxon Hill on May 15.

  • ShopRite unveils Top 10 healthy eating selections

    KEASBEY, N.J. — ShopRite unveiled its in-store dietitians’ Top 10 Picks for healthy eating, which the company states can be used to pack nutrition into easy and delicious recipes that fit a customer’s individual health goals and budget.

    The Top 10 Picks, part of the retailer’s Well Everyday campaign, features signage, food demonstrations and other promotions on display until early June. Well Everyday debuted in store, online and on social media platforms on April 24.

    NEW YORK — Elizabeth Arden’s men’s prestige fragrance brand Curve is rolling out its latest fragrance and partnership. The brand on Wednesday introduced its Curve Black and named social media star and filmmaker Mark Dohner as its latest fragrance brand ambassador.
