  • Kimberly-Clark appoints former Honda, IBM executive as chief information officer

    DALLAS — Paper-products manufacturer Kimberly-Clark has appointed Jennifer Sepull as its chief information officer and VP information technology services, the company said Monday.

    Sepull, who will report to SVP and CFO Mark Buthman, previously was VP and chief information officer of the information systems division at American Honda Motor Co. She also previously worked for IBM and pursued several business ventures.

    The jelly beans are available in 2.8-oz. bags featuring characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy.

  • Smartphone, tablet picture takers can print directly to nearest Walgreens location through new HP app

    PALO ALTO, Calif. — HP this week announced that customers can now print directly from their smartphone or tablet to more than 8,000 Walgreens stores through the HP Public Print Locations network.

    By downloading the free HP ePrint Service iPhone app, users can order prints of their photos and pick those photos up from a local Walgreens in as little as an hour.

  • Gourmet-within-a-store: Giant-Carlisle to debut in-store Di Bruno Bros. cheese shop

    CARLISLE, Pa. — Ahold banner Giant Food Stores is opening a cheese and specialty food store in central Pennsylvania, the supermarket chain said.

    Giant — also known as Giant-Carlisle to distinguish it from fellow Ahold chain Giant Foods of Landover, Md. — said it had a deal with Philadelphia-based Di Bruno Bros. to open the store inside the Giant Super Food Store in Camp Hill, Pa. The new store-within-a-store will open on Jan. 24.

  • Retailers, suppliers make Fortune top-100 workplace list

    NEW YORK — Fortune magazine has released its list of the 100 best companies to work for this year, and a number of retailers and suppliers made the cut.

    Among retailers, Wegman's Food Markets came in at fifth place, with 8.3% job growth. Nugget Market, a supermarket chain based in Sacramento, Calif., ranked 37th; Whole Foods ranked 71st; and Publix Super Markets ranked 77th.

    Among suppliers, Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company, ranked 20th; Genentech ranked 36th; and Novo Nordisk ranked 48th. Confectionary manufacturer Mars ranked 95th.
