  • Vitasoy-USA appoints VP sales and marketing

    AYER, Mass. — Vitasoy-USA announced that it has promoted one of its marketing executives.

    Susan Rolnick now will serve as VP sales and marketing, the tofu and Asian pasta maker said. Prior to joining the company in 2009, Rolnick served as director of marketing for ConAgra's Lightlife division.

  • Ziploc, Rachael Ray team up for Great American FreshOver Project

    RACINE, Wis. — Ziploc has tapped chef and television personality Rachael Ray for a two-year initiative that is designed to help consumers give their food and diets a "freshness makeover."

  • Campbell president exits for Sara Lee

    NEW YORK — Campbell's North America division president Sean Connolly will take the helm at Sara Lee's North American retail and foodservice business, the companies said Friday.

    Sara Lee said Connolly will serve as CEO of MeatCo, effective Jan. 17, following Sara Lee's planned spinoff of its international coffee and tea business. During his tenure as president of Campbell North America, a position he held since 2010, Connolly was responsible for the company's largest division, the company said.

  • Thinkway Toys to create 'Despicable Me 2' toys

    UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Thinkway Toys will launch a new line of toys based on the follow-up animated film to "Despicable Me," Universal Partnerships and Licensing and Illumination Entertainment announced.

    Thinkway Toys was granted a master global toy license for the release of animated film, "Despicable Me 2," and will develop a wide variety of toys featuring the minions and other key characters, including interactive toys, figures, plush, dolls, playsets, vehicles, role play and novelty items, UP&L and Illumination Entertainment said.

  • Hansen Natural unveils corporate name

    CORONA, Calif. — The company behind Hansen's natural sodas and Monster energy drinks has a new corporate name.

    With approval from its stockholders, Hansen Natural announced it has changed its name to Monster Beverage Corp. and will begin trading under a new stock ticker symbol, "MNST," effective Monday.

    In addition to its Hansen's and Monster brands, the company also owns Junior Juice, Blue Sky, Peace Tea, energy shots brand Worx Energy, vitamin-enhanced water brand Vidration, Hubert's lemonades and Pre probiotic drinks.

    NEW YORK — The Global Market Development Center earlier this week announced the association will be "flip-flopping" its two annual marketing conferences with the Health Beauty Wellness event moving to a spring time frame and General Merchandise event moving to a fall time frame, beginning in 2013.

  • Report: Kodak to file for Chapter 11

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rumors are swirling that Kodak moments may be no more.

    According to published reports, the more-than-one-century-old company is looking to seek bankruptcy protection. The Wall Street Journal reported that could file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this month or in early February and that Kodak was scrambling to sell some of its patents, though a Kodak spokesperson told the publication that "does not comment on market rumor or speculation."

    ORRVILLE, Ohio — Dairy Enterprises has expanded its Ruggles brand to include a new frozen yogurt line.

    New Ruggles low-fat Greek frozen yogurt is available in original tart, vanilla bean, peach, honey, blueberry and strawberry flavors.
