    LONDONDERRY, N.H. — Organic yogurt brand Stonyfield Farm has kicked off a yearlong education campaign to encourage consumers to opt for organic products.

  • Report: Pepsi onto the 'next' best thing

    PURCHASE, N.Y. — Pepsi is gearing up to launch a low-calorie soft drink, according to published reports.

    The beverage maker will debut Pepsi Next, which will tout 60 calories per 12-oz. can, Beverage Digest reported last week. The beverage could be the company's way of meeting diet soda drinkers half way.

    Pepsi's portfolio of beverages includes its namesake, Pepsi Max, Pepsi Natural, Pepsi One, Pepsi Throwback and Pepsi Wild Cherry, as well as diet and caffeine-free varieties.

  • IdeaVillage names COO

    WAYNE, N.J. — A company that specializes in "As Seen on TV" products has named a new COO.

    Ron Boger, who currently serves as EVP of IdeaVillage, will take on the COO role. He will work with company founder Anand Khubani in launching new and innovative products in the mass market.

    Boger is credited with bringing such products as SlimShots, Yoshi ceramic knife, Fushigi ball and Criss Angel MindFreak magic kits and tricks under the IdeaVillage banner and into the mass market.

  • Fuze reformulates beverages

    WHITESTONE, N.Y. — Prepare for a juice drink experience that "fuses" fruity flavors and nutritional ingredients.

    Fuze said that each of its 12 flavors tout vitamins A, C and E, and also contain distinctive fruit flavors and an added nutrient commonly associated with those fruits.

    The original Fuze line consists of seven flavors:

  • Peter Henry nominated to join Kraft's board

    NORTHFIELD, Ill. — Kraft Foods said its board of directors has nominated Peter Henry as its newest member.

    Henry, an international economist, is dean of New York University's Stern School of Business.

  • Sambazon touts organic acai with orange juice

    SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — Sambazon has added an organic acai with orange juice drink to its lineup.

    One serving of organic acai with orange juice provides consumers with 150% of the daily value of vitamin C and contains no added sugar, while delivering powerful antioxidants, healthy omegas and vibrant flavor in every sip, the company said.

    The new Sambazon beverage is available in 10.5-oz. and 32-oz. bottles for a suggested retail price of $2.99 and $7.99, respectively. Sambazon products are sold at select grocers and Whole Foods nationwide.

    LONG VALLEY, N.J. — A beef jerky brand that made its debut at the 2010 National Association of Convenience Stores trade show last October has been named the official beef jerky of the Babe Ruth League.

  • Hershey products receive price boost

    HERSHEY, Pa. — Expect to see Hershey products carrying a higher price tag.

    In an effort to offset input costs, the chocolate giant said it would implement a weighted average price increase of about 9.7% across its instant consumable, multipack, packaged candy and grocery lines.
