  • Jelly Belly expands Camo Beans

    FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Jelly Belly has added a second colorful, trendy bag to its line of Camo Beans — Pink Camo Beans. For every bag of Camo Beans and Pink Camo Beans sold, Jelly Belly Charities will donate $0.25 to support U.S. veterans and their families. The mix includes Cotton Candy, Coconut, Licorice, Cherry Passion Fruit Smoothie, Bubble Gum and Strawberry Cheesecake.

    The new Camo Beans are available in 3.5-oz. hanging Grab & Go bags and will be on shelf in March.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Blue Diamond Growers, an almond processing and marketing company, last week announced a new line of honey-flavored products across the Snack Almonds, Nut Thins and Almond Breeze brands. The line combines the sweetness of honey with different flavors to create a satisfying snack, the company said.

    MORTON GROVE, Ill. — Lifeway Foods, a supplier of cultured dairy products known as kefir, announced the introduction of Veggie Kefir, a new veggie-kefir smoothie in tomato, cucumber and beet varieties. The smoothies pack a full serving of vegetables, along with 12 probiotic cultures, into every 8-oz. bottle.

    FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Jelly Belly Candy Co. is back with its latest installment of Jelly Belly Art, in which vivid mosaic-like portraits are made from thousands of Jelly Belly jelly beans. The subject of the portraits focuses on endangered species in nature, bringing creatures like the Hawksbill Sea Turtle and the Giant Panda to life through Jelly Belly's signature confections.

  • Unilever to more than double its water purification business via acquisition

    SHANGHAI, LONDON and ROTTERDAM — Unilever has acquired a majority stake in the Qinyuan Group, a Chinese water purification business — marking Unilever’s largest acquisition in China for more than 10 years.

    Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Qinyuan generated sales approaching €140 million for the 12-month period Dec. 31.
