  • Bell Pharmaceuticals introduces Jet-Avert motion sickness tab

    BELL PLAINE, Minn.— Bell Pharmaceuticals on Wednesday added a new extension to its Jet line of products - Jet-Avert is a fast acting, easy-to-take motion sickness aid.  

    The super-small mini tab helps provide all day protection from nausea, dizziness and vomiting, the company stated. Targeting the chronic user, Jet-Avert is available in 24 & 100 count sizes.  

  • JAMA endorses acupressure wrist bands for morning sickness

    LEICESTERSHIRE, England - The Journal of the American Medical Association recently endorsed acupressure wrist bands as useful, safe treatments for morning sickness, Sea-Band announced Thursday. Sea-Band, which has been a respected U.K.-based maker of its bands for more than 30 years, is now expanding its product lineup to include ginger gum and lozenges.

    Boehringer Ingelheim is looking to spark some excitement across the antacids aisle with the June launch of its Duo Fusion combination antacid, “from the makers of Zantac,” which couples a fast-acting heartburn remedy with an H2 blocker to provide both immediate and longer-lasting relief from heartburn. “We saw an opportunity to trade up consumers from antacids to an H2 [blocker],” said Marc Rovner, general manager Boehringer Ingelheim Consumer Healthcare, in an interview with Drug Store News.

  • University of Rhode Island pharmacy students take home coveted 'Pepto Bowl'

    KINGSTON, R.I. — The University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy students Matt Lippertshauser and Ethan Melillo recently took home the "Pepto Bowl"  as part of the annual Student and Pharmacist Self-Care Championship, URI announced Tuesday.

    The pair represented URI in the “Jeopardy!”-style academic competition at the annual New England Pharmacy Convention Sept. 23. Their victory marks the third time in nine years that URI has won the contest, reported College of Pharmacy Clinical Professor Kelly Orr, but it didn't come easy.
