    DALLAS — Teladoc, a telehealth provider with more than 7.5 million members, has announced the acquisition of AmeriDoc, a telehealth company founded in 2007.

    Teladoc stated that the acquisition supports its strategy for growth into new and fast-growing market segments.

  • CorePharma launches generic Ritalin

    MIDDLESEX, N.J. — CorePharma on Thursday announced the launch of methylphenidate hydrochloride tablets USP, the generic version of Ritalin from Novartis. Methylphenidate is intended for the treatment of narcolepsy and attention deficit disorders.

    The drug is available in 5-,10- and 20-mg strengths. Methylphenidate immediate release tablets had U.S. sales of approximately $243 million as of December 2013, according to IMS Data.

     

  • Actavis launches generic Catapres-TTS

    DUBLIN — Actavis announced that it has launched a generic version of Boehringer Ingelheim's Catapres-TTS (clonidine transdermal system, USP, 0.1-mg/day, 0.2-mg/day, and 0.3-mg/day for one week), following the company's final approval on its abbreviated new drug application from the Food and Drug Administration.

    Catapres-TTS is used for the treatment of hypertension. The drug had total U.S. sales of approximately $180 million for the 12 months ending Feb. 28, 2014, according to IMS Health.

     

  • Breyers goes gluten-free

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Breyers announced that it will begin offering 36 gluten-free varieties, which will feature a "gluten-free" claim, in line with the Food and Drug Administration's rule on gluten-free labeling.

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Global beauty brand Dove announced the launch of Dove DermaSeries, a range of cleansers and creams that can be used to care for extremely dry skin. DermaSeries marks the brand's first premium skin care line.

    Dove partnered with dermatologists for the line to provide critical insight into the science behind dry skin, including Dr. Ranella Hirsch, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
