  • Duane Reade to blast allergy coupons on high-index days through Poncho app

    NEW YORK — Walgreens' Duane Reade stores will be promoting its allergy remedies on days with high allergy indexes through Poncho, a text- and email-based weather app, according to a story published by Mashable on Tuesday. 

    The offering will be Poncho's first step into monetizing its service, according to the report. 

    The promotion, which was negotiated by OMD Ignition Factory according to the report, will run through June 7.

  • Sprite, LeBron James team up for new flavor

    ATLANTA — Sprite, a beverage from Coca-Cola Co., has created a new flavor with the help of NBA star LeBron James. The limited-edition Sprite 6 Mix combines the traditional taste of Sprite with a splash of cherry and orange flavor. The beverage, as well as the packaging graphics and product name, were co-developed to reflect James' style and taste preferences.

  • Heel debuts allergy relief and alertness products

    ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Heel Inc., a homeopathic pharmaceutical company, announced the debut of ClearLife allergy relief and WellMind calming and alertness aid brands.

    The ClearLife line melds three of the company's allergy relief products under a single brand: ClearLife Nasal Spray (previously sold as Luffeel), ClearLife Tablets (previously sold as Adrisin) and ClearLife Eye Drops (previously sold as Oculoheel). The new packaging includes green branding and comes with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $11.99.

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bolthouse Farms is expanding its line of yogurt dressings to include two new flavors: Cilantro Avocado and Mango Chipotle, both of which are now available in stores nationwide.

  • Natco receives tentative FDA approval for generic Tamiflu

    HYDERABAD — Natco Pharma received tentative approval from the Food and Drug Administration to launch a generic version of Roche Holding AG's Tamiflu, according to a recent report. The drug is used to treat bird and swine flu.

  • Sparkling Ice portfolio expands with new lemonade flavors

    PRESTON, Wash. — Sparkling Ice, a line of sparkling spring water from the TalkingRain portfolio of beverages, announced the additions of Peach and Mango lemonades to the Sparkling Ice Lemonade line. The two new flavors join Classic Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, Raspberry Lemonade and Lemonade with Tea to round out the product line.

    Sparkling Ice Peach Lemonade takes the sweetness of fresh peaches with the tangy flavor of lemon while Mango Lemonade combines the essence of mangoes with the classic lemon flavor.

  • Mallinckrodt receives FDA approval for Xartemis XR

    DUBLIN — Mallinckrodt Plc last week announced that the Food and Drug Administration approved Xartemis XR (oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen) Extended-Release Tablets (CII), for the management of acute pain severe enough that it requires opioid treatment.

    The drug also is indicated for patients for whom alternative treatments have shown to be ineffective. Xartemis XR, previously known as MNK-795, is the first and only extended-release oral combination of two clinically proven pain medications — oxycodone and acetaminophen.

  • Peeps brand gets the party started with latest confection

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Peeps, a brand from Just Born Quality Confections, announced a variety of offerings for Easter 2014, which includes the new Peeps Party Cake Flavored Marshmallow Chicks — vanilla cake-flavored marshmallow chicks decked out with rainbow confetti.
