  • Kirby Lester, Tri State Distribution team up in pharmacy automation deal

    LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Kirby Lester will provide pharmacy automation equipment for a distribution company based in Tennessee.

    Kirby Lester announced that its KL60 compact robotic dispenser would provide its KL60 compact robotic dispenser, which would be the exclusive pharmacy automation for Tri State Distribution's TriMaxx three-sided container, closer and label system. The companies announced the deal before the National Association of Chain Drug Stores' Pharmacy and Technology Conference in Denver, which ended Tuesday.

  • Campbell's celebrates Andy Warhol with limited-edition soup cans

    CAMDEN, N.J. — To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Andy Warhol's 1962 famed work, "32 Campbell's Soup Cans," Campbell's is rolling out limited-edition tomato soup cans that tout labels derived from original Warhol artwork.

    The four specially-designed labels reflect Warhol's pop-art style and use vibrant, eye-catching color combinations, such orange and blue, and pink and teal, Campbell's said. The limited-edition cans were produced under license from The Andy Warhol Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation that promotes the visual arts.

    NEW YORK — Arizona Beverages is saluting American icon and sports legend Joe DiMaggio with the launch of a lightly carbonated espresso drink called Joltin' Joe.

  • Symphony Health Solutions appoints senior executives, new board member

    HORSHAM, Pa. — Symphony Health Solutions has expanded its senior leadership team.

    The company — which is owned by Palo Alto, Calif.-based strategic equity firm Symphony Technology Group — said former SunGuard Higher Education CFO John Milana has been appointed CFO of the company;  Jonathan Rosan, who had served as general counsel for interactive marketing agency Rosetta, has been named general counsel; and software engineering veteran Nigel Pratt has been named chief technology officer.

  • NextGen, Nipro Diagnostics create telemedicine capability monitoring diabetes patients

    HORSHAM, Pa. — NextGen Healthcare Information Systems on Wednesday announced a telemedicine agreement with Nipro Diagnostics that would enable users of the company's NextGen Ambulatory EHR instant access to data points captured by patients at home who are using the Nipro TrueResult blood-glucose monitoring system. 

  • Sara Lee expands pound cake portfolio

    DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Sara Lee has refreshed its pound cake lineup.

    The company has revamped its butter pound cake recipe, which now is more moist, and has introduced a lemon-flavored cake. The two varieties are part of a portfolio that also includes the lower-calorie Light and Dreamy pound cake, as well as pound cake slices (which come in original and double chocolate flavors).

  • Coastal Wine Brands debuts Charonge

    NAPA, Calif. — Coastal Wine Brands has debuted a new California white wine blended with natural orange flavor.

    Charonge, which debuted last month, the wine is zestily fruity with fresh orange blossom, peach/apricot and yellow plum aromas. On the palate, it delivers crisp, wonderfully refreshing orange, papaya and yellow apple flavors that are enlivened in the wine's long, snappy finish by a slight spritz, the company said.

    Charonge carries a suggested retail price of $12 per bottle.

  • Purina encourages pets, owners to 'be happy'

    ST. LOUIS — Purina has launched a new line of pet food that is inspired by the enduring happiness pets share with owners.

    Be Happy is a dry pet food, available nationwide in cat and dog formulas, which helps support strong bones and teeth, healthy vision and healthy skin and coat, Purina said. The brand portfolio includes two varieties for cats — Deep Sea Duos Crunchies with ocean fish and salmon flavors and Poultry Pair-adise Crunchies with chicken and turkey flavors — as well as two varieties for dogs — beef and chicken.
